Kristan Frei
Head of the North American Artistic and Education Team
Kristan’s artistic background provides a strong foundation for her work in this industry. It is her unique ability to fuse science and art that makes her one of the most sought after educators and colorists today.
Kristan has used a very successful ten yeas behind the chair as a laboratory for her career in education. Her strong belief that change in the industry starts with education is what fuels the fire behind her progressive approach to teaching color. Her career has been a combination of educating for companies such a schwartzkoph as well as creating curriculum for Dikson USA. She is also able to exercise her passion for art in many hair and fashion shows as well as being a part of a new art form that combines living models representing art on a canvas.
Kristan’s success is due to her continued belief that “In large measure the industry has forgotten that we started out as artists,and following our artistic hearts will always bring us our greatest success”.
Cody Allen
National Artistic and Education Design Team Member
Cody learned at an early age from his artist/construction worker Father that a true craftsman is only as good as the tools he uses. That is why he has always strived to find the best products to work with in his craft. His quest for the finest, lead him to attend one of the best educational institutions in country for cosmetology, and it also lead him to Dikson. CodyÕs work has been featured in national magazines, posters and advertising. His down to earth style of teaching as well his vast knowledge and skill make learning a truly enjoyable experience.
Cody has become a true leader in the industry and his commitment is inspirational.
Tina Thomas
National Artistic and Education Design Team Member
Tina is a true visionary and award-winning hairstylist who is exceptionally talented in cutting as well as coloring. She has trained with some of the best colorist in the country, and has worked with several other national color lines as a trainer and artist. Tina owns one of the most progressive salons in Southern California. She prides herself in designing complete looks that include the latest techniques and teaching them to others. Tina discovered her love of education early in her career. As a member of the National Artistic and Education Team, Tina is integral in curriculum development and successful program implementation, including show production.
Joyce Vowell
National Artistic and Education Team, Guest Artist
Joyce started her hair styling apprenticeship in 1968. In the 36 years since that time, she has become one of the most recognized color and finishing specialists in the industry. Formerly the artistic leader of one of the largest international color companies in the nation, JoyceÕs work has been featured in print and film work all over the world. Some of her film credits include the period hair design for Mr. HollandÕs Opus.
Joyce is now the owner of Artistic Beauty based in Portland Oregon. Joyce is also a member of the Dikson Artistic and Education team where she teaches the finer points of hair artistry.
Alan Mandarano
National Artistic and Education Team, Jr. Member
Having entered into the artistic world of hair design later in life, Alan brings a wealth of perspective and enthusiasm to our industry. With a marketing background in college and in the business community for various industries, he has found a home in the salon and is devoted to helping our industry reclaim its roots and integrity.
Alan has been intimately involved in hair design since 2003, having married a 20 year veteran and salon owner in Portland, Oregon. With sincere intentions of entering into the field of hair design at an early age, Alan has returned to a passion that was once held close to his heart as a young boy. Artistic creativity and being of service in an intimate way are what fuels his enthusiasm.
Coming into our industry with a solid and well rounded background benefits his clientele tremendously and is what led him to Dikson Service, USA. Having been to “the circus”, as he states, with many other lines of hair care product, manufacturers & distributors, the decision to use Dikson exclusively was easy. “When you hear the truth, you know it, simple as that”.
Alan’s deep sense of gratitude and service prompted his personal involvement in keeping the integrity of our profession intact, or more precisely, restoring it.
Having done many things, he has found no greater joy and purpose than being of service to others.
As a Jr. member of Dikson’s, USA Artistic and Education Team, Alan is eager to expand his passion and knowledge of the industry and is committed to being of service to his clientele and other industry professionals.
Lisa Hamby
Director of Operations Team Dikson USA
Lisa Hamby is the Director of Operations at Dikson Service USA, working closely with all of our distributors, educators, and business affiliations in the United States and communicating with Headquarters in Milan, Italy and Toronto, Cananda. She is a valued member of Team Dikson and her enthusiasm, character and attention to detail are assets that those of us who are intimately involved with Dikson USA have come to appreciate.
